To deceive someone, usually by making that person do or believe something that they did not intend

The Democrat leadership has you believing that if they pull out all the stops to defeat Trump one way or another, it will be what is best for the country. They seem to have a hard time remembering previous Democratic presidents who could also be charged with hush money cases. John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, to name a few. Clinton had a long line of lovers that were either paid off or disappeared; just look it up for yourself. Not to mention the HR complaint that should have been filed against Clinton for using his position as president to take sexual advantage of Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern. Do you really think she would have consented to sexual relations if he were the Whitehouse janitor?

Trump Hush Money Trial: Jury selection began in the criminal trial of ex-president Donald Trump - NBCNEWS.com

The court adjourned until 9:30 a.m. (1330 GMT) on Tuesday.

Trump must attend the trial, which is expected to last through May.

The judge denied a request for Donald Trump to miss a trial session to attend a U.S. Supreme Court session in Washington next week, where his lawyers will argue he should not face separate criminal charges of election interference.

Lawyers from both sides will seek to impanel 12 jurors and six alternates.

Choosing a jury from a pool of people from heavily Democratic Manhattan could take several days, to be followed by opening statements and testimony from a parade of potentially riveting witnesses, including Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, and adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Trump has denied any such relationship with Daniels and has pleaded not guilty.

Though the case is regarded by some legal experts as the least consequential of the four criminal prosecutions he faces, it is the only one guaranteed to go to trial before the Nov. 5 election.
